Brought in a near-shore partner — defining the statement of work, negotiating terms, and managing the ongoing relationship. Migrated deployments from bare metal to containers, improving stability and engineer onboarding. Drove the CI/CD migration from Azure DevOps to GitHub.

Owned the full engineering budget and staffing, drove cross-team collaboration to share tooling and simplify tech stacks. Launched high-value partner integrations including mastering and video creation. Began integrations with sister company Fuga to unify processes.

Managed four distinct teams across two brands, growing the organization from ten to fourteen engineers. Partnered with a local code school to run an internship program — two of four interns converted to full-time. Led the architectural plan to decompose a monolith into APIs and microservices, and migrated the marketing site to WPEngine, freeing the UI team from routine marketing work.

Grew the team from four to ten people across three work groups (UI, Back-End, QA). Relaunched the CD Baby platform in nine months using a scalable, load-balanced architecture. Architected a distribution system processing thousands of deliveries daily — peaking at 500k deliveries in 30 days to a single partner. Founded and grew the QA practice. Led the launch of BookBaby and its book distribution system.

Progressed from junior developer to lead, defining code standards, workflow, and development philosophy. Designed and built a web-based CD/DVD template designer in C#, JavaScript, and Ajax. Rebuilt core class libraries using a custom ORM, reducing the codebase by over 25%.
